NB: Injury Recovery Timelines

Unfortunately when there's pain or an issue occurring it tends to be due to damage within the joint structure. Biomechanics work with stretching, movements, releases and strength sessions will not directly fix structural damage. This is where physiotherapy and pain management is required. Working on your biomechanics however will release any tension on the joint/s so that the strain causing the aggravation can reduce and your muscles, tendons and ligaments can heal at speed.

Meet Your Instructor

My name is Jen Coppock and I started running after severing my ACL and struggled with imbalances after the surgery. I ended up wonky and looking for a way to restore balance and stop the injury flare ups so I became super interested in Movement and have helped hundreds of runners to improve their performance and rehabilitate or prevent injuries from imbalances and weaknesses within their intrinsic biomechanics.

The full programme I created initially focused on a quick 10 minute session designed to get injured runners back running, and I found that spending just 10 minutes per day runners could not only come back from injury quicker, but they improved performance and prevented the injury from coming back.

Can't I just find all of this on Youtube?

I provide a lot of free content on Youtube and in the public Facebook group, and there are of course many other biomechanics experts and physiotherapists offering advice and movements on both platforms. However I have carefully programmed these sessions combining key movements to improve running specifically. All theory sessions are explained for runners rather than clinicians so they are easy to understand, follow and ultimately help you Get Back Running faster with everything in just one place.

Do I need to fix imbalances or injuries before starting?

This programme is here to help improve imbalances for all levels, if you feel super wonky to start with it's better to just get cracking and started on your journey. The theory sessions will explain your condition and the tests will help pinpoint the quick and easy gains you can make to Get Back Running faster.

If you're suffering from an injury beforehand it's likely you'll still be able to complete the vast majority of each session, just don't do any movements that cause pain. Each movement is completed for 30 seconds so you can just have a little rest with anything that's causing an issue. It's important to note, that improving your biomechanics will likely reduce the strain on your injured area, so getting started when injured will often help a runner recover faster and stronger than before.

Should I invest in Get Back Running Programme before investing in a run technique analysis?

Any good run coach knows that run technique analysis is a moving assessment of your intrinsic biomechanics. How you run is a visual representation of how your joint function works. In all honesty, you'll gain more from improving your running biomechanics with this challenge than paying for a private run assessment performed on a treadmill. It is handy though however to have video footage of your run style before and after completing the challenge to compare the alteration in your technique, just be aware how we run on a treadmill will be different than how we run outside.
